All this World Series hype is getting pretty out of control. I am just gonna go with it and say it's the Yankee's and Phillies in the Series. I don't really want to talk about baseball here because the UFC 104 fight is on soon so that has me in the mood as well. So I started thinking to myself who would win a fight? Phillies fans or Yankee's fans? They are both from large cities that come with reputations of being tough. I am sure both have their sources of weapons and whatever else they can get their hands on to win a battle, but who's got the heart. Fight against me in this if you want but I am going to go with the Phillie's fans. Those guys are rough... I mean they killed someone outside of the stadium last year, how bout that for a start. They get drunk, loud, violent, and know how to tear a city down in the midst of a celebration. They've got experience, that's why I am going with the Phillie's fans. If the Yankee's won the world series last year, and destroyed the city, flipped cars, lit bon fires, broke windows, and on and on just for a celebration then I might give them the edge, but at this point the case is shut for me.

Tim Tebow's nasty

I know alot of people that don't like Tim Tebow.... How can you not? Why because he's actually helping people around the world rather than eating up the media attention he gets. The kid is amazing at football, he has an arm that can throw like a rocket, and he runs with a little bit of skill. I am honestly just worried about his ability to play under the center. How will this translate into the NFL? No doubt Tebow is one of the nastiest players to play the qb position in college football. If he were in the draft last year he would of went number 1. Now he has a concussion under his helmet and that puts a little bit of risk on him. Still I like his style and they way he acts. This is a little Hypocritical for me since I feel like Brett Favre should be a really good guy, I just don't like him for the fact he can't make up his mind and he should of retired with green bay (even though the vikings are pretty impressive this year). O and I don't like Favre because of the tv commercial he did.... like we know you can't make up your mind I don't know how the people at sears didn't see this coming? So Tim this is my post for you and all the people who hate you out there. Your a great football player and an outgoing person, put a little extra padding in your helmet and step up to the NFL. P.S. I just saw a picture of your girlfriend, tell her to subscribe to this blog and send me her number if you get this.
Phillies Yankess World Series
If baseball isn't rigged it should be. The Phillies and the Yankees in the World Series would attract alot of the people to the sport. The rivalry between the two teams is kind of hidden. If you want to know why these teams really should play each other.. look at the fans. Yankees fans are your typical New York trash talking fans, and Phillies fans are your typical Philadelphia angry show no mercy fans. I guess I shouldn't say either of these groups of people are typical because them being so aggressive and so dedicated to their home teams makes them what they are. Recently a man was beaten to death outside of Citizens Bank park after a Phillies game...these fans are no joke. And New York, with the hustle and bustle of the city you know these people don't like losing or wasting their time.
The World Series looks like its going to be Philadelphia and New York. A repeat would be nice for the city of Brotherly love, but those damn Yanks are on a hot streak as well. Well they were until last night when the Angels had a walk off victory, and the Phillie's matched them when Jimmy Rollins shot a double into the outfield to win it for the Phils in the bottom of the 9th. Either way I'm throwing this out there now, NY and Philly in the World Series it should be a good one.

Phinally Again

The Phils are back again, to destroy the opponents and eventually the city if they win another World Series. I figured I would write about the riots last year after the Phillies won the World Series. If you didn't hear about it... your not a sports fan. If you were involved, you probably had the time of your life. The riot consisted of shutting down broad street, a 6 lane street that runs north to south in Philadelphia. The street was fluttered with people screaming, yelling, running, honking, and everything else you can think of. Fires were started in the streets, windows broken, news vans dissaembled, cars flipped, subways shut down, lightpoles brought down, plenty of other things, as well as riot people. It was an amazing atmosphere. Now some may say you win the World Series and destroy your city.. well you haven't been to Philadelphia ever in your life because the city needs some revamping as it is, and the fans just helped the process along in my opinion. The feel you have when the road is nothing but people and you are all celebrating the same thing.
Now there was an official parade in the following days in which the city's public transportation was overwhelmed and shut down. The parade attracted around 2 million people, the riot was definetly less than that but trust me it was far more enthusiastic. So if the Phillie's win this year again I am sure more events of this type will be happening, and i recommend if your in the area to stop in and enjoy the festivities because it doesn't happen very often. Especially in philadelphia when you see a large population of people out of control that heavily over number the police. JayG

The Micael Vick Project

Michael Vick is going to be staring in a part reality part documentary show. The show is suppose to show his life the rise and the fall and all this other stuff. You know what I don't want to hear about the rise and fall of Michael Vick I want to hear about how good of a player he was. He was the number 1 draft pick in 2001 coming out of Virginia Tech and going to Atlanta. Now he's an Eagle. He got 1.6 million dollars this year with a 5.2 million dollar option for next. Michael Vick is one of the most entertaining players to watch, and surprisingly right now he's getting paid a modest salary. He might have a little rust but this guy is great. If you don't believe me look at his highlight videos on youtube. He's agile and quick, he can maneuver really well. What I find myself wandering is what's next for him. How quickly can he get himself back into the game, and what's it worth? He could be one of the greats still he's only 29. Also if he is going to keep playing, where will he play? In 2005 Michael Vick made 23,000,000 dollars and was the highest paid player in the NFL, now he's making 1.6 I wander how he feels about it.

Braylon's where?

This past week Braylon Edwards was traded to the New York Jets. The browns got 2 players and 2 undisclosed draft picks. Braylon has been horrible his last two seasons as a Brown. I mean I can't blame him with the quarterback situation they are having there currently, but the guy hasn't done much. Hopefully Mark Sanchez will be able to help this guy out on some of his stats, but even Sanchez isn't looking the best lately. Braylon needs to bring some hope to this city, and he needs a quarterback that can do it. Lets just hope this isn't another story of a good receiver with a bad quarterback.

I Rank Brett Favre A 67

I play alot of Madden in my downtime and that has come to make me start ranking players in my head on a Madden like scale. Only difference is that I integrate a few personality traits in. Might sound strange but im sure you have a much stranger habit so I dont care.
I want to talk about Brett Favre on my scale. As a Packer back in the good old days, say back in 2000 or '01, i remember being 13 or 14 and having a picture of him on my wall. I was so in awe of him and how big of a star he was. I'd rank him a 90 then.
Then in '07 he gets into a few "disagreements" with the Green Bay organization and, plop, he ends up in New York of all places. But this is not until after a barrage of media on the subject. I have never felt more flooded by a story. Not even the election scandle with Gore and Bush tops this. Down to an 80.
Of course we all know what happened as a Jet, I call it a flop. Add the Bicep injury and at best you can call it an off year. Down to a 65.
Now the Vikings have him, once again not until after an unbearable amount of media coverage. Down to a 60.
Preseason was less than impressive for Brett. I'd say Tarvaris Jackson had a real fighting chance from his performance if not for Childress's love interest in Favre. Now were at a less than healthy 55.
Now i dont know what to think about him. 837yds and 8tds. Not bad for four games. The Vikings are now 4-0. I know Adrian P. is a major factor but A.P. didn't throw that pass to the back of the 2 weeks ago to win the game.
I'm disgusted with Brett yet I almost want to root for him again. Its a strange struggle but we have to see were it leads. I rank Brett Favre a 67. DRok
Why Crabtree will not be a factor

Michael Crabtree is a selfish man who has now put multiple people at a disadvantage for part of the season. First off he JUST SIGNED TODAY. Thats problem enough. He puts the team that entrusted their faith to him on his backside right away.
Selfish, greedy people do not do well in sports. Now were 4 weeks into the season and he has to come in and try to learn everything that took all of the other players all of training camp and a few pro weeks to learn. He has no rep on the team, so who know how or if he will integrate into the offence.
I will acknowledge that there is a tremendous amount of talent in Crabtree, no argument there. But to be an effective player on a professional team you need to be a part of the team (that means fulfilling all of your team oriented obligations such as training camp). Now he accepts a six year deal thats not very far off of his original offer.
Way to screw yourself Crabtree, Congratulations. DRok

Timeout for T.O.
T.O. has played for 4 NFL teams now.. 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, and now the beloved Bills. We all know Owens started in Sanfrancisco and has his on and off years here are his stats.
http://www.nfl.com/players/terrellowens/profile?id=OWE755129
In 2004 he signed a 49 million dollar seven year contract with a 10 million dollar signing bonus. After the first season he hired Drew Rosenhaus has his agent, one of the more popular agents in professional sports. T.O's first year in Philly he pulled in about 9million being most of his signing bonus he couldn't stand the fact he wasn't one of the highest paid receivers in the league even though just coming off an injury, so he made a move to Dallas. When he got to Dallas T.O got a 25 million dollar 3 year deal, with a 5 million dollar signing bonus. He finished his contract there to collect his money and in 2009 he signed a 1 year deal with the Bills for 6.5 million dollars.
He brings drama and excitement, you can love him or hate him, this man is getting paid. This year stats arn't looking that great for him so far but lets face it, he is on the Bills.
NFL starter post

So the median salary of the NFL in 2009 is $700,000, yea 700,000 for a 16 game season not including playoffs. That works out to roughly 43k per game of the season, but you also have to include practice time each week, and summer training camps. The stealers being champions actually have a 1.1 million dollar median. These numbers range so much because of low paid athletes in the league, and higher paid ones as well. Tight Ends, Punters, and Kickers account for the lowest paid athletes in the NFL bringing in as low as around 200,000 dollars a year. These numbers are also for starters, bench warmers could earn even less. NFL salaries tend to be lower than other pro sports teams due to the roster, each team has a salary cap that maxes out when the money is used up to pay for players. This is just a quick glimpse at what the NFL pays we’ll go through the other pro sports as well, and will also be focusing on certain players and how their stats affect their pay from year to year. Stick around and shed some light.
