So the median salary of the NFL in 2009 is $700,000, yea 700,000 for a 16 game season not including playoffs. That works out to roughly 43k per game of the season, but you also have to include practice time each week, and summer training camps. The stealers being champions actually have a 1.1 million dollar median. These numbers range so much because of low paid athletes in the league, and higher paid ones as well. Tight Ends, Punters, and Kickers account for the lowest paid athletes in the NFL bringing in as low as around 200,000 dollars a year. These numbers are also for starters, bench warmers could earn even less. NFL salaries tend to be lower than other pro sports teams due to the roster, each team has a salary cap that maxes out when the money is used up to pay for players. This is just a quick glimpse at what the NFL pays we’ll go through the other pro sports as well, and will also be focusing on certain players and how their stats affect their pay from year to year. Stick around and shed some light.
